Peter Rosenberger“How can you laugh through what you all live through!?” Peter Rosenberger often hears that question when people learn of his 33+ year journey as a caregiver for his wife, Gracie, who lives with severe disabilities. (80+ operations including the amputation of both legs). Yet, both Peter and Gracie draw hope from their deep faith which strengthens their hearts and their sense of humor. Peter’s weekly radio show, Hope for the Caregiver, is heard on more than 185 stations, and will expand to Sirius XM’s Family Talk Channel (131) on September 1, 2019. Through his show, along with his books and speaking events, Peter address the challenges of life, business, and relationships with candor, compassion, and comedy. Inspiring, entertaining, and empowering audiences across the country, Peter Rosenberger, offers poignant insights into the life of a caregiver and weaves his deep compassion for the challenges faced by fellow caregivers with his outrageous humor.
Speaking to and for fellow caregivers is a passion and a mission for me.
From personal experience, I know the journey is a brutal, and the isolation is crippling. I also know we’re never going to feel better about the challenges we face as caregivers.
But the goal is not to feel better. The goal is to be better!
Sharing lesson learned from a lifetime of caregiving to audiences, a transformation happens for all of us, one weary heart at a time. – Peter Rosenberger
An Exceptional Voice of Experience for an Unprecedented Need
Drawing on an astonishing 33+ year journey as a caregiver for his wife through a medical nightmare, Peter brings an enormous wealth of experience and understanding of the heartache and harsh realities in the life of a caregiver.
Speaking frankly and practically, Peter equips fellow caregivers with the tools necessary to live a calmer, healthier, and even more joyful life.
“I have attended every one of the MARKINC spring events and this one is the best! The speaker took on a painful topic but kept us laughing.”We heard this comment repeatedly after Peter Rosenberger spoke at our annual Spring Benefit. Peter not only wowed the audience with his transparent approach to caregiving, but his passion for offering help and hope flowed over into his before and after engagement with the audience. Peter took his time to personally connect with each person at the book table (long lines didn’t deter him). He paid attention to those who were wheelchair bound. Peter also “got” our goals and familiarized himself with MARKINC so that he could encourage the audience to freely support our efforts to offer help and hope to hurting people.
We’ve worked with numerous “A-List” speakers and Peter was by far one of the easiest and most eager to help us achieve our goals. Our spring event was one of the “best” and Peter Rosenberger helped make that happen. We wholeheartedly recommend Peter as a speaker.
He is not a “prima donna”who demands special treatment or protection from the audience. He seems energized by his interactions with people.
The audience was emotionally charged and engagedSharing his own caregiving journey Peter Rosenberger was able to lead participants to a better insight of the many sacrifices you make as a caregiver. Outlining his book “7 Caregiver Landmines and How You Can Avoid Them”, Peter defined these “ landmines” as Ignoring Personal Health Needs, Isolation, Excessive Weight Gain, Loss of Identity, Guilt, Fear, and “It’s all up to me.” He gave practical solutions to avoiding these barriers and becoming stronger, healthier caregivers. The audience was emotionally charged and engaged. It was a day of thank you and validation for the important role of caregivers and the difference that they make in the lives of the most vulnerable.
To say I was highly impressed is an understatementI was lucky enough to spend time with the keynote speaker, Peter Rosenberger, on Thursday night and participate in the conference in the afternoon. To say I was highly impressed is an understatement. I can’t express what a triumph this day was for all who attended. The emotion and positive comments that were shared after the conference have been overwhelming. I offer a special thanks to our staff for making RIPIN what RIPIN is and for representing us so positively in the community!
He truly understood our fears, our frustrations and what was on our heartsOur time with Peter was transformative. The message he brought to our conference was so genuine, and connected with us in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. Peter didn’t speak about abstract theories, or how things ‘should be’ for caregivers. He truly understood our fears, our frustrations and what was on our hearts—and brought insight from his years of experience to empower us and to feed us on our journey. He sent us out with humor, grace and the understanding that to be effective in providing care for our loved ones, we first have to begin with the vital mission of caring for ourselves as caregivers.
He brought hope to professionals and family caregivers“Peter Rosenberger was the keynote speaker at the NYS Caregiving & Respite Coalition’s annual conference. Through humor, he gave practical advice to caregivers living the care partnering experience. More importantly, he brought hope to professionals and family caregivers who deal with the struggles of caregiving day in and out. We were so impressed with his use of storytelling. He was the highlight of the conference!”
He inspired hope and courage to persist in the battleWith heartfelt, honest and humble teaching, Peter touched deep wounds in the hearts of those who listened. He offered truth to cleanse the lies of doubt, guilt and failure and inspired hope and courage to persist in the battle. From sound Biblical wisdom, he shared practical advice with both humor and gentle compassion. There is no question that he ministered deeply to these weary caregiving warriors.”
Everyone walked away a little lighter for their journeys because of Peter’s kind words and hard-earned wisdom.“Peter has a unique gift for storytelling that brings levity, strength and comfort to the burdensome and often overwhelming state of caregiving. In a room of 900 people impacted by Huntington’s disease, laughter rang out and everyone walked away a little lighter for their journeys because of Peter’s kind words and hard-earned wisdom.”
